# Product, stage and personal directions

Shorter\-wear proposal planning

Reading 1 of 3

Read a proposal in layers. The name identifies the option; the stage identifies the part under discussion; your personal directions explain your own responsibilities.

Read the supplied example, its explanation and the completed interpretation. Keep your own directions with your treating team.

## Give each piece of information its own job

Start by identifying what the proposal actually names. Then look for the parts of the course it describes. Finally, locate the directions supplied for you. Keeping those jobs separate makes an explanation easier to follow: you can point to the exact part you understand and the part that still needs an answer.

Think of this as reading a document together, rather than using a name to select your own routine. A summary can be clear about the proposed course while leaving a personal prescription with the treating orthodontist.

## The current label makes the stage distinction material

The manufacturer describes a shorter continuous daily wear commitment for AirFlex and a longer daily wear commitment for later PrecisionFinish. This is a stage difference, not a whole\-course sleep\-only description. Individual directions and contraindications still require clinical review.

## Read one complete fictional proposal

Maya is considering care and wants to understand what would be involved before accepting. This supplied example is an educational reading, not an actual patient record or a SMILE\-FX prescription. No wear timetable is supplied or inferred.

### Named proposal

AirFlex, followed by later PrecisionFinish; Maya’s personal directions remain separate.

**What this explains**

The opening shorter\-wear description does not cover the longer later\-stage commitment.

### The supplied explanation

For this fictional proposal, the clinician explains: “The earlier part and later part ask different daily commitments. When you consider the whole course, include waking work and meal settings in the picture; a plan built only around sleep does not describe the later commitment.”

**What this explains**

Maya has received the useful distinction: the opening description cannot stand in for the later part. Her personal wear and care directions are still set by the treating orthodontist.

### Maya’s completed reading

“The proposal includes a shorter continuous commitment and a longer later commitment. I need to picture my waking day as well as rest. I have not received permission to choose a schedule.”

**What this explains**

Maya can now explain the commitment difference rather than merely point to two documents. She still brings personal care questions to the treating team.

## Look for a connected explanation

A useful conversation connects the part being proposed, the directions that apply to it and who explains a transition. If one document describes an opening part while another describes later care, name that difference explicitly. Understanding the difference is progress even before a personal decision is made.

Maya’s completed interpretation is that one description cannot represent the whole course. The later part changes the practical planning question: how does her whole day provide access for following her own directions? The next reading supplies that day and an actual nonclinical access fact.
